Photovoltaic module quotation “chaotic war” changes solar system price list (April 2023)

solar system price list Recently, photovoltaic practitioners have noticed,  that although the current centralized procurement quotations for photovoltaic modules are still mostly maintained,  at $0.22-0.23usd/watt, in actual pricing, most investment companies will use multiple rounds of negotiation. Renegotiate prices with component manufacturers. Pv module enterprise have learned that a certain first-tier module manufacturer,  even has a transaction price of $0.21usd/watt, while some second- and third-tier module companies,  can even offer a low price of $0.20usd/watt, it will make the solar system price list much lower.

From the end of 2022, the component link will begin to enter a stage of intense price competition. Although silicon material prices continued to remain stagnant,  or even slightly increased after the Chinese New Year Festival, it still can not change the downward trend of prices in the industry chain. Since then, a price war has begun in all aspects, it will be a good news for the end-consuming buyer,  to get better solar system price list.

According to the overall average quotation of bidding companies, module prices have gradually dropped,  from around $0.21usd/watt to the current level of around $0.20usd/watt.

Although prices show a downward trend, the price difference between companies has slowed down from about $0.04usd/watt to about $0.017usd/watt and then increased to the current level of about $0.035usd/watt.

According to this year’s overall quotation, head photovoltaic component companies rely on their brand advantages to quote relatively high prices, basically staying above the average bidding price of major companies. In order to grab orders, second- and third-tier component companies have taken advantage of the decline in industry prices,  to increase component quotations. Relatively radical, the lowest quotations from all central enterprises come from second- and third-tier component companies.

Compared with ground solar power stations, the solar system price list in the distributed photovoltaic market is slightly higher. Some dealers told photovoltaics,  that the current purchase price of a leading component company has reached more than $0.23usd/watt, while the previously executed price was about $0.22usd/watt.

The price war after the start of this round of price cuts,  was still initiated by second- and third-tier companies. Head component companies have brand advantages,  and hope to reasonably expand profit margins on the component side. Second- and third-tier companies, in order to compete for orders and squeeze into the short list, have also ushered in the corresponding market with low quotations. Some power station investors said, “The quality of components from second- and third-tier companies may need to be verified by the market, but based on solar system price list, the overall rate of return on power station investment is almost the same.”
